Digital Archiving & Repository Policy

Journal of Computer Science and Technology (JOCSTEC) is committed to the long-term preservation and permanent availability of all scholarly works published in the journal. To ensure that published research remains accessible to readers, researchers, and libraries worldwide, JOCSTEC implements both active digital preservation systems and an open self-archiving policy in compliance with the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).

1. Digital Long-Term Preservation

JOCSTEC utilizes recognized digital archiving initiatives to ensure perpetual access to its digital content in the event of platform downtime, server migration, or discontinuation of the journal:

  • PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN): JOCSTEC digitally preserves all published articles through the Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network (PKP PN), which provides decentralized, permanent archiving for Open Journal Systems (OJS).

  • LOCKSS & CLOCKSS: JOCSTEC utilizes the Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe (LOCKSS) and Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe (CLOCKSS) preservation systems to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries, allowing those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.

    • LOCKSS Manifest URL: [https://jurnal.padangtekno.com/index.php/jocstec/gateway/lockss](https://jurnal.padangtekno.com/index.php/jocstec/gateway/lockss)

    • CLOCKSS Manifest URL: [https://jurnal.padangtekno.com/index.php/jocstec/gateway/clockss](https://jurnal.padangtekno.com/index.php/jocstec/gateway/clockss)

  • National Repository / Library Preservation: JOCSTEC submits its digital publications to the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia (Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia / Perpusnas) through statutory legal deposit schemes (Indonesia OneSearch).

  • Publisher Server Backups: The publisher, PT. Padang Tekno Corp, maintains automated daily and off-site cloud backups to prevent any accidental loss of journal data, full-text PDFs, and metadata.

2. Author Self-Archiving Policy (Repository Policy)

Authors retain the right to archive and share their work without restriction or embargo period:

Article Version Permitted? Embargo Period Permitted Repositories / Locations
Pre-print (Submitted Version) Yes None Personal website, preprint servers (e.g., arXiv, OSF Preprints, SSRN), institutional repositories.
Post-print (Author Accepted Manuscript) Yes None Institutional repositories, subject repositories, author personal website.
Version of Record (Publisher PDF) Yes None Any repository, academic networks (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu, LinkedIn), institutional websites.

Archiving Guidelines for Authors:

  1. When archiving the Version of Record (published PDF), authors must acknowledge JOCSTEC as the original publication venue.

  2. Authors must include the official Digital Object Identifier (DOI) link resolving to the published article on the JOCSTEC website (e.g., [https://doi.org/10.59435/jocstec.vXiX.xxx](https://doi.org/10.59435/jocstec.vXiX.xxx)).

  3. Published articles remain governed by the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
