COPYRIGHT AND LICENSE POLICY

Journal of Computer Science and Technology (JOCSTEC) is committed to the principles of open science and open access. To ensure widespread dissemination, preservation, and reuse of academic work, JOCSTEC applies transparent copyright and licensing terms in accordance with the standards of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).

1. Copyright Policy

  • Authors Retain Copyright: Authors publishing with JOCSTEC retain the full copyright of their work without restrictions.

  • First Publication Rights: Authors grant JOCSTEC the right of first publication, allowing the journal to publish, disseminate, and archive the work simultaneously under the designated open access license.

  • Commercial & Non-Commercial Rights: Since authors retain full copyright, they are free to enter into separate, non-exclusive contractual arrangements for the distribution of the published version of the work (e.g., posting to an institutional repository, disciplinary archive, or publishing in a book chapter), provided that initial publication in JOCSTEC is acknowledged.

2. Open Access Licensing Terms

Articles in JOCSTEC are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Under the CC BY 4.0 license, anyone is free to:

  • Share — Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.

  • Adapt — Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercially.

Under the following conditions:

  • Attribution: Appropriate credit must be given to the authors and JOCSTEC as the original publisher, a link to the license must be provided, and indications must be made if changes were made.

  • No Additional Restrictions: Users may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.

3. Self-Archiving & Repository Policy

Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories, preprint servers, personal websites, or academic social networks like ResearchGate and Academia.edu):

  • Submitted Version (Preprint): Allowed any time before publication.

  • Accepted Version (Postprint / Author Accepted Manuscript): Allowed immediately upon acceptance.

  • Published Version (Version of Record / Final PDF): Allowed immediately upon publication, retaining original publication metadata, DOI link, and acknowledgment of JOCSTEC.

4. License and Copyright Statement in Published Articles

Every article published in JOCSTEC displays the license badge and copyright notice on both the article webpage and the published PDF metadata:
"© [Year] The Author(s). Published by PT. Padang Tekno Corp. This is an open-access article distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0)."
